Walk 2010 button

Israel Solidarity Day, a celebration marking Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, will take place on Sunday, May 2, 2010. This community-wide, family-friendly event features the Walk with Israel (a 3 Mile walkathon to raise funds for Israeli children), plus food and festivities for all ages. Israel Solidarity Day brings together Jews from across the Chicago area to stand with their community and support their Jewish homeland.

Spring Mitzvah Mania button

The JUF TOV Volunteer Network's Spring Mitzvah Mania 2010, a calendar of one-time volunteer opportunities, runs Sunday, March 14 through Sunday, May 16. Shower some goodwill over Chicagoland this spring! Serve a meal, sort food and furniture donations, visit with the elderly and so much more! Spotlight 2010 button

Join YWC on Thursday, March 18 at Pagoda Red (1714 N. Damen) for our 2010 Tzedakah Spotlight event, which celebrates women who give a gift of $250 or more in their own name to the 2010 JUF Annual Campaign.  Our featured speaker is Sophie Ambrose, a young woman who was born and initially raised in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, hardly knowing she was Jewish, much less knowing what being Jewish meant. Through a Google search, she found out about birthright Israel, which she then participated in.

JUF-JVS Job Fair button

JUF and JVS will be hosting a Job Fair on Friday, April 16, 2010 for entry to mid level professionals. The fair will run from 10 am – 2 pm at the Standard Club (320 South Plymouth Court ). From 9 am - 10 am there will be a Job Fair preparation workshop. In addition to face-to-face contact with hiring firms, job seekers will have the opportunity to participate in several career workshops and receive career counseling and resume help. Population Study button

Work on the 2010 edition of the Jewish Federation’s Chicago-area Jewish Community Survey begins in just a few weeks. The studies, conducted every 10 years, provide both a snapshot and a roadmap for the Jewish community, telling us who we are, where we are, and where we’re headed.
